Lady Chiefs finish in fourt place after loss

FLOWODD &045; Chuck Bauerle’s Tensas Academy bunch has turned Mississippi Private School Association heads all season long with its speed and defense.
On Saturday, however, it was the Lady Chiefs who were spinning out of control against Kemper Academy during the consolation final at the MPSA Class A state tournament.
The Lady Rams stifled Tensas &045; which, despite the loss, advances to next week’s Overall Tournament in Clinton &045; through the first three quarters, on their way to a 48-34 victory to claim third place.
Kemper held on of the Lady Chiefs’ top scorers, Tabitha Howard, to four points, as Megan Bauerle and Lyndsay Hendrix led Tensas with 11 apiece.
The Lady Rams led from wire-to-wire, holding Tensas to four points in the third.
Delta Academy claimed state honors with a 62-51 win against Claiborne Academy.
