Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for the third straight day in the Miss-Lou.

Contests in Natchez and Vidalia did not materialize as showers Sunday afternoon pushed back action for the second straight day in Vidalia and for the third time in four days in Natchez.

The Dixie Youth coach-pitch sub-district tournament got washed out Sunday after the second half of action was rained out on Saturday.

Officials in Vidalia will try a third time today to begin bracket play in the tournament with four games. The opening-round games will begin at 6 p.m. with Winnsboro facing Ferriday and South Franklin meeting up with the Vidalia Nationals.

The Dixie Majors’ 15- and 16-year-old district tournament will try a third time to start today. East Central will host Franklin in Game 1 of the three-team tournament at 7 p.m. today.

Just over a half an hour before the scheduled start of Game 2 of the Natchez Dixie Youth 9-10 All-Star City Championship series. Meanwhile, the weather took a turn for the worst.

A severe thunderstorm that moved through Natchez between 1:25 and 1:50 p.m. rocked the town with heavy rain and strong wind.

It also washed out Game 2 of the best-of-three series between the Natchez Rebel League All-Stars and the Natchez Confederate League All-Stars.

Game 2 will take place Tuesday at 6 p.m. and, if necessary, Game 3 will follow Game 2 at Duncan Park’s Ballew-Bowlin Field.
