McDonald’s owner vows to rebuild after fire

VIDALIA &045; Lorrane Stalians plans to rebuild her McDonald’s franchise, which was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning.
Stalians spent much of the day on Tuesday awaiting phone calls from her insurance company and the fire marshal regarding the loss of the restaurant.
&uot;It’s hard to pass by there,&uot; Stalians said.
The fire marshal could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to the scene at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators have not said what they believe is the cause of the fire.
No one was in the restaurant at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The building had heavy fire damage throughout the inside, to the roof and to the east outside wall.
Stalians said she lost the contact information about her employees and needed to get their information quickly.
Stalians, who started the business almost 20 years ago, said the business was the only source of income for herself and many of her employees.
&uot;It will be rebuilt,&uot; Stalians said.
In Natchez, local McDonald’s owner Gary Small offered a time from 2 to 4 p.m. today to interview employees from the Vidalia store for potential jobs, Stalians said.
Stalians said she wanted to get in touch with all of her employees to discuss business as well as personal matters.

Stalians also urged other businesses throughout the Miss-Lou area to contact her if they had any positions available.
