DELHI, La. &045; No more two-and-out this summer at the district tournament. The Vidalia Minor League All-Stars are in the finals tonight.

The All-Stars had some key hits Wednesday to take a 5-3 win over Rayville to advance to the District 6 tournament championship at 7 p.m. today against West Monroe. Vidalia has to beat the team twice in order to claim the championship, and a win today would call for a second game on Friday back up at Delhi.

The win on Wednesday sure went a long way in that department. Vidalia got two in the first inning to take a quick lead as Devin Barnes doubled in Jake Winston and Dee Garrison doubled in Barnes.

Rayville got a run in the third off Jake Winston to cut the lead in half, but in the fourth Vidalia got two more runs. Matt Souderes doubled in Allen Smith and Brandon Warshaw and later scored on a fielder’s choice for a 5-1 lead.

Jake Winston struck out 15.
