Three teenagers charged in drive-by shooting

NATCHEZ &045;&045; Police arrested three teenagers late Wednesday night in connection with a drive-by shooting on the corner of Woodlawn Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Officers who responded to the 9:50 p.m. call found James Marsaw, 19, 577 West Stiers Lane, on the ground with one gunshot wound to the back. Marsaw was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released, Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
Witnesses on the scene gave officers a description of three people who had driven by in a truck and fired out the window of the vehicle.
Minutes later officers found the truck and arrested Bradley Joseph Welch, 18, 622-C Highland Blvd. and Tempest Seatoria Clay, 17, 602 Maple St., Vidalia, La., on charges of aggravated assault.
Several hours later the family of Michael Dewayne Riley, 19, 6 Spencer St., turned him in to police. He was arrested on aggravated assault charges also. All three individuals were in the truck at the time of the shooting.
Mullins said a small caliber handgun was used in the shooting. The fired cartridge was found in the bed of the truck.
Mullins said the individuals involved in the shooting knew the victim.
&uot;We suspect they had had an altercation earlier,&uot; he said.
Bond will not be set until arraignment for any of the suspects. They are all being held at the Natchez city jail.
