Reality TV has finally made its way to the wonderful world of genealogy &045;&045; and YOU and your family could very well be the next stars.
MyFamily.com, Inc. along with its television production partners, LMNO TV, have signed a deal with NBC to create a prime-time network TV special named &uot;Extreme Reunion.&uot; If the special is successful, it could even evolve into a regular series.
Designed to be a family friendly show, the special will be based on making people’s deepest dreams of locating missing loved ones come true.
However in order to create this TV special, the network needs great stories. So the call has gone out for people searching for people.
If you are looking for anyone significant from your past &045;&045; be it family, friend, loved one, military buddy, or whomever &045;&045; this could be your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make it happen … and happen in grand style.
According to current plans, the reunions could happen anywhere from a private jet to the half-time of an NFL game. The possibilities seem endless.
A website has been established to gather the stories from people longing to be reunited with someone special from their past. And while this certainly isn’t limited to family researchers, the search for these stories has certainly started with press releases to genealogy groups everywhere.
The website is found at www.ExtremeReunion.com. The questionnaire asks for basic personal information, details about the person you are searching for and why the search is important to you. The rules and restrictions for participation are also explained.
So do you have a long lost relative you’d love to see again? A brickwall in your research that you could use a little extra help in breaking down? Why not check out the website and submit your story. If selected you may be reunited with that person and have the most amazing experience of your life … all on national TV. While this is definitely not for the camera shy among us, it could be a dream ending to someone’s endless search. In the genealogist’s world where we quickly learn to leave no stone unturned, this may be a stone worth looking at twice.
DOES ANYONE KNOW …

) is looking for information on the family of JAMES WARD ETHERIDGE who was born in 1822 in Bertie, NC. James was married to NANCY C. SMITH who was born in Alabama in 1840. The couple lived in Winston County, MS. James’ father was WILLIAM ETHERIDGE and Nancy’s father was PETER B. SMITH. Does any reader have information to share on these families … Karen Lyon (

) is looking for confirmation of a story about the brother of THOMAS BRADFORD (1844-1892). The brother was apparently known as ‘DOC.’ The story was told that &uot;Doc&uot; was apprehended robbing a train and was identified because of his exceptionally small feet. No one else in the area had such small feet.
This supposedly happened in the Woodville, MS, area between 1850 and 1920. Has anyone heard of such a story in this area? Was there a newspaper in the area that might have carried the story at the time it happened? Any help &045;&045; especially Doc’s real first name &045;&045; would be greatly appreciated.
