WINNSBORO, La. &045; After getting off to a 2-0 start, the Franklin Academy Cougars lost their fourth straight game, this time to a Tensas Chiefs team that was ready to get back on the winning track after a tough loss to a good Porter’s Chapel team a week ago.

Thanks to a balanced offensive attack led by Will Ratcliff, Tyler White and Ryan Borsch the Chiefs jumped out to a big lead and cruised to a 47-21 win over the Cougars in an MPSA District 7-A game.

Tensas (4-2, 2-0) got nearly 150 passing and three touchdown passes from White, perhaps the best quarterback in the entire Miss-Lou area, over 100 yards receiving and two touchdown receptions by Borsch and close to 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns by Ratcliff.

The Chiefs jumped on the Cougars early and often in the first half to take a 34-0 halftime lead. Franklin Academy (2-4, 0-3) finally scored in the third quarter and scored a couple of more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to make the score a little more respectable.

The first three touchdowns the Chiefs scored were on long drives, including the first one going 80 yards, as they ended up with over 350 yards in total offense.

WCCA 35, Union Academy 6

GEORGETOWN &045; Ruston Cado had 58 hard-earned yards rushing on 15 carries and his three touchdown runs helped the Rams take the win in the District 6-A opener for both teams Friday night.

Neither team was able to get much going offensively as the Rams (2-4, 1-0) had just over 200 yards of total offense while the Saints couldn’t even get 100 yards of total offense and had only nine passing yards.

LaValle Johnson led the Rams’ defense with 16 tackles and two fumble recoveries as well as one quarterback sack.

Tallulah 34, Huntington 6

FERRIDAY, La. &045; The Trojans scored in each of the four quarters while the Hounds struggled to move with players moving from one position to another due to injuries.

&uot;We played extremely hard,&uot; Hounds head coach Bo Swilley said. &uot;We made some mistakes on defense. We’re just inconsistent. Tallulah has a good team.&uot;

However, Swilley saw some good things from his team in this District 7-A matchup.

&uot;Huston Eliser had a big night running the ball,&uot; Swilley said.

Centreville 30, B. Green 7

FRANKLINTON, La. &045; The Centreville Tigers once again ran all over an opponent, demolishing Bowling Green 30-7 Friday.

Centreville went up early, scoring a touchdown on their first drive and then sacking Buccaneers’ quarterback Michael Blair for a safety just five minutes into the contest. From there, the Tigers never looked back, building up a 23-0 halftime lead and resting their starters in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers were led by the play of senior running back Blake Devall, who scored a rushing and receiving touchdown in the game.

Bowling Green’s lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter with the Centreville second-string defense on the field.
