Tourism study author to present free seminar on marketing

NATCHEZ &045; Tourism industry employees are invited to a free seminar today on tour packaging, which will be conducted by consultant Stu Barash.
Barash is the author of a new tourism marketing study backed by the chamber’s tourism promotion committee.
The seminar will be about &uot;how to develop your business and product and package it to the masses,&uot; said chamber of commerce chairman Laura Godfrey.
Admission to the event, which will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Vicksburg room at the Natchez Convention Center, is free.
One example of a tour package is the city’s Hollidazzle, a series of holiday events sponsored by the chamber and other groups, Godfrey said.
&uot;It’s about how to come together,&uot; Godfrey said of the seminar.
People in the retail, hotel and restaurant industries would especially benefit from the seminar.
Later that day, Barash will present his study findings to the mayor at board of aldermen at their regular meeting at 6 p.m. Rene Adams, chairman of the chamber’s tourism committee, encouraged everyone who backs the study to come to the meeting to show their support.
