Rebels end losing streak; WCCA wins

NATCHEZ &045; A tough week finally came to an end Friday for the Rebels (4-5), and it couldn’t have come any sooner.
The Rebels got their first win in three games this week and ended a five-game skid with a solid win over Amite School Center. It came after losses to Chamberlain-Hunt and Tensas earlier this week, but finally the Rebels made a solid start against Amite.
Adams led 22-12 at the end of the first quarter and used a 16-8 advantage in the second to lead 38-20 at halftime. The Rebels followed that with a 17-8 edge in the third to lead 55-28 heading into the fourth quarter.
Timmy Foster led the Rebels with 18, and Matthew Marks got hot from 3-point land and finished with 15. Cox led Amite with 11.
WCCA boys 52, Ben’s Ford 28
WOODVILLE &045; Wilkinson Christian has gotten hot at the right time.
The Rams are 4-0 in district after starting the season with seven non-district losses. WCCA beat Ben’s Ford 52-28, holding a lead for almost the entire game and breaking things wide open in the fourth quarter.
&uot;It was a ballgame until the fourth quarter,&uot; WCCA head coach Ray Olive said. &uot;We’re finally playing some ball a little bit.&uot;
The Rams led 25-28 at halftime.
Greg Garner led WCCA with 26 points. Andrew Thomas had 10 to lead Ben’s Ford.
