Centreville, Franklin County highlight first team

Franklin County placed five on the All-Metro first team along with three from Centreville Acaademy after both teams made the deepest playoff runs in the Miss-Lou in 2004.

The Bulldogs, who lost the Class 3A South State championship to West Lauderdale, have on the first team running back DeAndrea Cameron, offensive linemen Kyle Tutor and Jake Buckles, defensive lineman Marcus Tillman and defensive back Jonathan Brooks.

Cameron rushed for 1,482 yards and 24 touchdowns, Tutor was named first team all-state and Brooks finished with eight interceptions.

Centreville’s Jennings Field made it as quarteback, Blake Devall at running back and A.J. Dooley at defensive line.

Trinity Episcopal sophomore Stevan Ridley made the first team at running back. As a sophomore, Ridley ran for 1,479 yards and 24 touchdowns as the main component in the Saints’ offense.

First-team receivers are Andrew Ellard of Cathedral and Ryan Borsch of Tensas Academy. Ellard was the Green Wave’s main weapon on offense with 601 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns, and speedy little Borsch had 711 yards and eight touchdowns.

Other first-team linemen are Phillip Eidt of Cathedral, Clay Bryant of WCCA and Dan Kitchen of Tensas Academy.

Jefferson County’s Anthony Chambliss made it as return specialist, and Adams Christian’s Timmy Foster made it as kicker.

On defense, Dooley and Tillman were joined by Adams Christian’s Patrick Womack, Cathedral’s Justin Dollar and WCCA’s LaValle Johnson. Dollar had 115 tackles, while Johnson registered 17 sacks.

Linebackers include Brett Hinson of Vidalia, Cap White of Trinity Episcopal, Brock Vines of Adams Christian and A.J. Sharp of Block. First-team defensive backs are Brooks, Zach Rogel of Trinity Episcopal and David Trisler of Adams Christian.

Vidalia’s Patrick Golden was first-team punter.
