NATCHEZ &045; Cathedral School and Holy Family Catholic School will celebrate annual Catholic schools week this week with various events.
The two schools kicked off the week Monday with a joint mass service at St. Mary’s.
Today Cathedral teachers and students will wear blue jeans and participate in a teachers-versus-students basketball game.
At Holy Family, pastors and parents will visit the school today to spend time in the classrooms and eat lunch with the students.
Wednesday, Cathedral will celebrate Harmony Day with keynote speaker Janie Walters, a professional speaker and trainer.
Walters will speak to the students in the morning about goal-setting and overcoming negatives. She will also provide two workshops for the students.
After school, Walters will give a motivational program for the teachers on stress.
Headmaster Pat Sanguinetti said the school used government title money to bring Walters to town.
Wednesday Holy Family will have a Teachers Appreciation luncheon.
Thursday Cathedral students will have lunch with community leaders and give them a tour of the building and Friday will be Teacher Appreciation day.
Friday at Holy Family will be a community service day.
Catholic Schools Week is celebrated nationally.
