In the third inning, leadoff hitter Jordan Brewer got on with a single and stole second base, then went to third on a passed ball.

&uot;Our leadoff hitter got on and then the heart of our order came up and did what they needed to,&uot; Vidalia assistant coach Tim Herndon said.

In the fifth, Vidalia again got its offense rolling, scoring two more runs to take a 5-1 lead.

&uot;We just strung a few hits together in that innings and it led to some runs,&uot; Herndon said. &uot;Their right fielder misjudged a fly ball from Brett Hinson and it led to two runs for us.

Knapp needed just 78 pitches to power through six innings of work.

&uot;He had nice control today and threw a lot of strikes,&uot; Herndon said. &uot;He even got the curveball across for some strikes, which really helped him.&uot;

Centreville 14, WCCA 4

CENTREVILLE &045; Brad Blades, Josh Lanehart and Alex White set the table and Jeffrey Delee was only too happy to clean it up.

Centreville’s Delee had a home run and a triple and drove home three runs in Centreville’s win over Wilkinson County Christian Academy. On the mound, Delee gave up just two hits and struck out eight.

&uot;We got started pretty early. We’ve been hitting ball well lately,&uot; Centreville coach Jason Horne said.

In the first inning Centreville jumped out a 4-0 lead. Blades and Lanehart had consecutive singles, then White knocked them both home. Delee pushed White in with a triple. In the second inning, Delee hit a two-run home run as the Tigers went out to an 8-0 advantage.

Centreville committed just three errors, a big improvement over some of their games.

&uot;Errors have killed us in our losses,&uot; Horne said. &uot;We had 10 against Huntington Tuesday, but we cut down on those tonight.&uot;
