NATCHEZ &045; The Natchez Fire Department let an old abandoned storage building from old Bellewood Country Club burn Thursday night.

&uot;Less of a garbage heap to clean up,&uot; said Robert Eidt of the Natchez Fire Department.

The Country Club has been closed for about five years due to flooding issues. There’s no sign of what caused the fire, so far.

The report came in from someone who drove past the club on River Terminal Road and saw smoke in the sky. The gate was locked when fire department officials arrived. No other buildings or materials were damaged from the fire. No injuries occurred.
