Suspected burglar breaks into Bug Busters with car

VIDALIA &045; Someone wanted something from Bug Busters.
They wanted it so bad they crashed through a garage door with their car and then took out a set of metal double doors and their solid metal frame trying to get into the front part of the company’s warehouse and storefront on U.S. 84.
And all of this was done in broad daylight about 1 p.m. Sunday.
Nothing was stolen, though that may have been simply because the intruder was scared off when the alarm went off.
The back storage area does not have an alarm, but when the double doors were slammed into, knocking them our of their frames and shoving the surrounding wall more than a foot backwards, the alarm went off and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene. The intruder was gone.
As much as anything, Bug Busters’ Ricky Smith just wants to know why this happened.
&uot;I’m just trying to figure out why someone did this,&uot; Smith said. &uot;Their car must have been damaged pretty badly and there wasn’t anything worth stealing in that back area. I just don’t understand.&uot;
The vehicle was driven between Bug Busters’ fence and a billboard just west of their property to get into the parking lot.
The garage door the intruder crashed into was at the back of the building.
&uot;I’m sure someone must have seen something. We’re looking for a black vehicle, could be a car or a truck, with white paint scrapes on the sides,&uot; Smith said.
Smith has offered a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the intruder.
