VIDALIA &8212; The alleged head of a major dog fighting operation in Concordia Parish turned himself in to authorities Thursday, after more than two months of living in hiding.
Clenton Schneider, 40, of 4637 Louisiana 565, Jonesville, La., was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of schedule III narcotics, dog fight training and possession of fighting dogs.
As of press time, he had not posted the $25,000 bond.
In August, Concordia Parish Sheriff&8217;s deputies broke up a dog fighting operation in Monterey, La. They found training equipment and 43 fighting dogs.
Amber Wallace and Joshua White, both of Monterey, were arrested and booked with identical charges as Schneider, who escaped from the scene.
The dogs were euthanized.
CPSO Sgt. Greg Jackson, the officer who made the initial arrests, said Schneider was most likely tired of the worry of living in hiding.
