Drug bust nets three arrests

FERRIDAY &8212; Law enforcement officers seized drugs, guns and more than $12,000 in cash from a Ferriday house early Friday morning.

Howard James Green, 38, Carolyn Green, no age available, and Tinisha Moreland, 23, Carolyn Green&8217;s daughter, were all arrested during the 7 a.m. raid on 607 E.E. Wallace Boulevard, deputies said.

All three are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, sheriff&8217;s department officials said.

Howard Green is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Carolyn Green is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation.

Warrants have been issued for Maurice Sheppard and Joseph Green, Carolyn Green&8217;s son, both of Ferriday, in connection with the case.

Members of the Concordia Parish Sheriff&8217;s Narcotics Task Force and the Louisiana Probation and Parole Office

seized seven pounds of packaged marijuana, 278 grams of freshly cooked cocaine, three guns and $12,614 in cash, reports said.

One of the guns had been reported as stolen to the Natchez Police Department, CPSO spokeswoman Kathleen Stevens said.

Sgt. Greg Jackson, who heads up the Narcotics Task Force, said the family did not resist arrest during the raid.

Three young children were also in residence and have been taken into protective custody, sheriff&8217;s department officials said.
