JONESVILLE &8212; After an up-and-down first half, the Ferriday Trojans were able to click on all cylinders in the second half as they defeated the Vidalia Vikings 48-31 Friday night at the Block Tournament.

&8220;Defensively we played well,&8221; Trojans head coach James Davis said. &8220;We jumped out to a man-to-man defense. We were able to get some turnovers and turn them into points.&8221;

Ferriday (8-1) used that defense to help it take a 13-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and it looked like the rout was on. Davis then went to his bench in the second quarter and the move almost backfired as Vidalia (7-3) fought back and outscored the Trojans 12-7 and trailed by just five, 20-15, at halftime.

&8220;I put some guys in the second quarter,&8221; Davis said. &8220;We gave up too many points. We&8217;ve got to stay focused.&8221;
