And after the Bulldogs&8217; 9-0 win over the Falcons at home on Jan. 3, the outcome of their Division 6-5A rematch probably wasn&8217;t going to be any different.

And it wasn&8217;t any different as the Bulldogs won by that exact same 9-0 score.

&8220;They had a much better team this time,&8221; Bulldogs head coach Dennis Hogue said of the Falcons. &8220;They had some speedsters. They had more players this time. They had their full team tonight. We brought only 14 players with us.&8221;

The win gives Natchez High (4-1) at least a share of the Division 6-5A title with Jim Hill and a playoff berth. A win by the Bulldogs next Tuesday at home over Forest Hill gives them the division title outright.

Kent Calvit scored in the ninth minute. Ross Smith scored in the 10th minute. In the 15th minute Calvit scored and one minute later, it was Smith&8217;s turn to score. In the 20th minute Jered Anderson scored for the Bulldogs.

Brandon Lewis scored on a nice breakaway in the 38th minute of the first half to give Natchez High a 6-0 lead at halftime. In the 10th minute of the second half, Anderson had his second goal.

Jeremy Buckles scored at the 21st minute and again at the 38th minute.

Franklin County boys 1, Loyd Star 0

MEADVILLE &8212; Austin McCormick made a great pass to Ryan Ratcliff, who took one stutter step and drilled it in the right corner of the net with less than a minute to go in the game as the Bulldogs remain undefeated in division play.

This was Franklin County&8217;s 15th straight division win going back to the 2004-2005 season. This was also the Bulldogs&8217; second straight Division 7 title.

Danny Mullins recorded his ninth shutout for the Bulldogs (7-0, 13-3-1).

Cathedral boys 1, Wesson 0

WESSON &8212; Eric Hollowell scored the only goal of the game in the 10th minute of the first half on an assist from Andy Taunton as the Green Wave took the win.

Cathedral girls 2, Wesson 0

WESSON &8212; Kate Ellard and Megan Whittington each scored a goal in the second half to give the Lady Green Wave (4-3, 6-9-1) a big win over the Lady Cobras (5-2) in a Division 7.

If the Lady Green Wave defeat North Pike on the road Tuesday, they are in the playoffs.

Franklin County girls 2, Loyd Star 1

MEADVILLE &8212; Caroline Yarbrough scored in the first half to give Franklin County (3-4, 13-5-1) a 1-0 halftime lead and then had the game-winning kick in a shootout as the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Hornets (0-7, 1-13) in Division 7 action.

Shannon Thompson scored for Loyd Star with 15 minutes to go in the game to tie the score at 1-1 and send the game into two 10-minute overtime periods, but no one scored.

Shonique Gibbs, Andrea&8217; Arnold and Yarbrough scored for the Lady Bulldogs. Haley Shedd and Dot Stringer made their shots in the shootout.
