&8220;You are being charged with being a drug dealer,&8221; Vess said. &8220;It&8217;s not just simple possession anymore. Each count could land you in the state penitentiary.&8221;

Latham&8217;s arrest was the result of a traffic stop and was in connection with the arrest of Anthony Shane Geoghegan.

Vess appointed public defender Tom Cotton to handle Latham&8217;s case.

Geoghegan, 31, 1216 Peach St., has hired his own attorney, Kevin Colbert. Geoghegan&8217;s bond is $25,000.

Dustin Paul Martin, 22, 408 Oehlca Road, Rayville, La., has a court appointed attorney, Pam Ferrington, and a $25,000 bond.

Lincoln Paul Bordelin, 43, 107 Mary St., Jonesville, La., has a court-appointed attorney, Bradley Hays, and a $25,000 bond.

Vess set his bond at $50,000 because of the previous charges.

Sheriff Ronny Brown said the drug investigations are ongoing, and more arrests may come soon. Metro Narcotics, the Adams County Sheriff&8217;s Office and Natchez Police are involved in the case.
