Miss-Lou brimming with news

It was hard to keep up with all of the good economic news for the Miss-Lou Tuesday.
First, Natchez aldermen agreed to pursue further talks with another casino developer, Expect a Miracle, which if it comes to fruition would be Natchez&8217;s third gaming development.
Expect a Miracle is proposing a $7 million development, not including millions more invested in other projects for the city.
Developer Charles Cato of Florida is now working on plans for a casino just south of the Mississippi River bridge, which would be the city&8217;s second casino.
The city also accepted a proposal for a new hotel from New Orleans developer Tom Bauer. Bauer&8217;s plans call for a $13 million, 120-room hotel to be located across Canal Street from the Natchez Convention Center.
This is the closest Natchez has come
in the four years the convention center has been open to having a hotel adjacent to the center.
Meanwhile, Vidalia officials finally were able to confirm Tuesday evening that a Wal-Mart Supercenter &8212; which could employ about 200 people and generate more than $600,000 in sales tax revenue &8212; is coming to the city. City officials say more retail and other businesses are interested in locating near Wal-Mart.
If any of these projects &8212; and the industrial prospects on tap &8212; come to fruition, we&8217;ll be in good shape for the new year and for many years to come.
