Drugs bring down sports stars too

Just in case the liberals in California have convinced you that smoking marijuana is harmless, swat away the smoke and peer into the hazy life of Ricky Williams.
He was the envy of millions of backyard football players. He was the star among stars. Everyone wanted to be Ricky. He was unstoppable.
Williams was tremendously gifted athletically his entire life. He played professional baseball in the Minor Leagues.
At the University of Texas, Williams&8217; legs were the offense breaking more than a dozen records, ultimately earning him the 1998 Heisman Trophy.
His on-field performance made him the New Orleans Saints&8217; lone draft pick in 1999. That&8217;s right, they traded all their picks just for him.
Early in his professional career, Williams struggled before hitting his stride after being traded to the Miami Dolphins.
Williams has in recent years become more famous for his lack of play, mostly caused because of his continued use of marijuana.
Last month, Williams lost his appeal to his fourth suspension for violating the National Football League&8217;s substance abuse policy.
His million-dollar career and livelihood has gone up in smoke and all he&8217;s left to do is inhale.
Need a good reminder for your children of why marijuana can be dangerous? Pick up a Ricky Williams poster. They&8217;re fairly inexpensive these days and getting cheaper by the minute.
