FERRIDAY &8212;The
Riverland board of directors is still looking for answers in the construction of new physician facilities after hearing a Tuesday night proposal.
Johnny Waycaster of Waycaster and Associates Architecture delivered a new building proposal to the board and answered questions the sketches of two new buildings brought up.
The buildings, each 2,000 square feet, would sit left of the hospital in the open area next to the front parking lot, leaving space for new buildings if necessary, Waycaster said.
The buildings, as proposed, would be separated by a walkway leading into waiting room entrances of both buildings with an awning out front of the two for pickup and delivery, Waycaster said. With the high cost of construction the buildings proposed would cost approximately $1 million.
Waycaster&8217;s idea of materials for the building would be brick veneer with a pitched roof to &8220;keep as maintenance free as possible.&8221;
formation by both candidates,&8221; Ballard said. &8220;And as it turned out there were more.&8221;
Ballard said he was also happy with the way the new touch-screen-voting machines worked in this election.
&8220;Last time we had a few issues with the machines, and this time there were none,&8221; Ballard said.
Ballard said the low turnouts for both the Democratic Primary and the run-off elections allowed the election commissioners to iron out problems and prepare for the bigger election in November.
