We know you&8217;re ready to start checking off your weekly to-do list. But first, take a few minutes to review the good news of the last week:

Members of the 155th Infantry&8217;s Family Readiness Group and other community leaders held a full day&8217;s worth of events Saturday to officially welcome the unit home.

Not only were the soldiers honored with a parade through downtown Natchez, but they also enjoyed a barbecue and an evening banquet.

The banquet, by the way, was made possible in part by donations from businesses throughouth the Miss-Lou.

Ferriday Lower and Upper elementary schools were recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for their efforts to teach healthy habits to students.

The schools were two of 10 nationwide to receive the HHS&8217; 2005 Innovation in Prevention award.

And both schools also received the Cooper Institute Gold Award for their efforts in helping prevent childhood obesity.

And apparently children are getting the message: The program&8217;s objectives were reached by 73 percent of the students.

Now, if only that percentage of us kept our New Year&8217;s resolutions.

Have a good week, everyone.
