Vidalia &8212; Two properties were approved to be rezoned from residential to commercial by the Vidalia Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday.
The commission voted to change the zoning of the lot on 106 Hickory St., next to Vidalia First Baptist Church, to allow the commercial building of Alyson Parks&8217; children&8217;s dance studio.
The commission also voted to change another lot on Hickory Street, across from The Ranch House, from residential to commercial, to
build an electrical wholesale store.
Following the Vidalia Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the board of aldermen passed an ordinance to allow a change of ownership at Jerry&8217;s Donut Shop on Carter Street.
The board also passed an ordinance to approve the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement, where the town of Vidalia would transfer 25-acres to the Louisiana Elastomer plant, a waste tire recycling plant.
According to the agreement, the land must be transferred to LAEL so that the plant owners can receive grants, loans and conduct other financial agreements if needed.
