NATCHEZ &8212; After an impressive road win over Prairie View last week, the ACCS Rebels (1-1) will return home Friday night to host Silliman (1-1) at 7.
Coach Bobby Marks said his team, which defeated Prairie View 41-0 last week, would have its hands full in the game.
&8220;They&8217;ve got a real good quarterback,&8221; Marks said. &8220;They&8217;re not as big as the teams we&8217;ve played so far, but they&8217;re quicker. They&8217;re 1-1 right now. They beat (WCCA) and lost to Brookhaven. It&8217;s definitely going to be a harder game than we had last week.&8221;
Once again, ACCS finds itself hampered by injuries.
&8220;Duncan Guedon&8217;s going to be out again,&8221; Marks said. &8220;Matthew Guedon didn&8217;t play last week either. Other than that, we&8217;re getting back. We&8217;re getting back fairly healthy. We may get Duncan back next week against Parklane.
&8220;He got a helmet to the thigh on the first play of the game (against Centreville). He&8217;s got a really deep thigh bruise. He played that entire game and didn&8217;t come out. If I had known it was as bad as it was I wouldn&8217;t have let him stay in there.&8221;
Marks said the biggest goal would be to continue to play mistake-free football.
&8220;We&8217;re just going to bow up and try and run it over them,&8221; he said. &8220;We want to try to play good defense. We probably played the perfect game last week. We only had one penalty. I don&8217;t think we made any mistakes. We didn&8217;t fumble the ball. The only problem was we scored so quick the first time the managers couldn&8217;t find the kicking tee. We&8217;ve got a manager that&8217;s directly in charge of the kicking tee this week.&8221;
Tallulah at Trinity Episcopal
What does a team do for an encore to decimating a team which knocked it out of the playoffs the previous season?
The Trinity Saints (2-0) will find out Friday when they travel to Tallulah (1-1) at 7.
Tallulah defeated Riverdale Academy in week one and fell to Franklin Academy 19-7 last week.
Tensas at WCCA
A match up of two teams desperately needing a win will go down in Woodville Friday night as the Rams host the Chiefs at 7.
WCCA has been outscored 66-6 in its first two games this season, while Tensas has played well but been unable to get over the hump. Both teams come into the game 0-2.
Riverdale at Centreville
The Tigers failed to capitalize on the momentum of their road win over ACCS two weeks ago, falling at home to Parklane by a score of 30-6 last week.
Things should get better as they host 0-2 Riverdale for homecoming Friday night.
