Ferriday house fire extinguished Thursday night

FERRidAY &8212; Ferriday Fire Department, with the help of the Concordia and Ridgecrest fire departments extinguished a fire at 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Assistant Fire Chief Joe Sontoyo said he received the call at 10:15 p.m. from someone at the Sonic Drive-in that they were seeing smoke up the road on Louisiana Avenue.

Fire trucks arrived at 413 Louisiana Ave. 15 minutes later to find the house on fire but no one was home, Sontoyo said.

Sontoyo said it took the departments about three hours to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Sontoyo said.
