NATCHEZ &8212; Andy Anders took the district 21 state representative position in Concordia Parish Saturday night.

In Concordia Parish, he took 65.61 percent of the votes, but district-wide, he garnered 52 percent at press time. At the time, 51 of 70 precincts had reported.

&8220;I don&8217;t want to comment until all the results are in,&8221; Anders said Saturday

night.

James E. Lee had 24 percent of the votes district-wide, and Samuel Thomas had 23 percent.

In Concordia Parish, Lee had 25.94 percent of the votes and Thomas had 8.45 percent.

Ricky Lee Raven won the District 4, place A position on the school board with 696 votes, or 70.16 percent of the votes.

&8220;I&8217;m elated,&8221; Raven said Saturday night. &8220;I&8217;m real happy. Real proud of the turnout and the confidence the voters showed in me. I&8217;m real thankful to the voters for getting out and voting.&8221;

Fred T. Butcher won District 1, place A on the school board with 749 votes, or 52.23 percent of the votes.

Daryle W. Price won school board District 4, place B with 546 votes, 68.85 percent.

Heath Edwards won in the race for Ridgecrest police chief, 98 to 90 votes.

&8220;I&8217;m excited,&8221; Edwards said. &8220;I have been living here all my life, and I look forward to doing what I can do. And I thank the people that supported me.&8221;

The position for Ridgecrest alderman will be decided in a run-off, with Douglas J. Tisdale getting 89 votes, 45.88 percent, and Willena C. Varnado getting 50, or 25.77 percent.
