Miss-Lou already into holiday spirit

You have 21 days to shop, decorate, give and prepare, but the Miss-Lou is already well on its way to a merry Christmas. Let&8217;s review the good you&8217;ve done so far.

4The real International Paper decorations and the replicas are up along the river in Natchez and Vidalia. The wooden art pieces offer a nice change of pace from our modern Christmas world. Both displays are free, making the scenes something we can all enjoy.

4The Isle of Capri is already in the gift-giving mood. The casino donated thousands of dollars worth of surveillance and undercover equipment to the Concordia Parish Sheriff&8217;s Office narcotics unit. The equipment was in use at the casino, but has been replaced.

4The Natchez Downtown Development Association will have a new leader this week, and all parties seem happy with the choice. Carrie Kimbrell said she&8217;s ready to get to know the community and get to work on new projects.

4And, probably the most exciting news of the week came in the form of two football trophies. Trinity Episcopal and Franklin County both clinched the state championship in their classes. The wins give our whole community a point of pride for years to come.

Now, back to the Christmas preparation. Remember, only 21 days left.
