Services for Doris Ella Moncreif Johnese, 69, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in Alexandria, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with Brandy Distefano and Mike Walden officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnese was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Ferriday, the daughter of Charles and Lillie Sturgeon and Lloyd and Lula Moncrief. She was retired from Concordia Parish School System in food service. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Johnese; daughter, Susie Walden; brother, C. L. Sturgeon; sisters, Lois Bergeron, Bobbie Lou Comer, and Viola Jensen; grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Johnese of Columbia and Mike Walden of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Gail Burley of Fort Necessity, La., Sherrill Moss of Houston, Texas, Debbie Distefano of Groves, Texas, Connie Magee and Pam Vance, both of Vidalia; brothers, Dick Moncreif of Vidalia, Ray Moncreif of Corbin, Ky., and Dan Sturgeon of Baker; sisters, Lula Caldwell and Brenda Temple, both of Vidalia, Louise Emerson of Troy, Ala. and Oma Brown of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Distefano, Bobby Moss, Dustin Burley, Preston Dooley, Mark Johnese and Paul Johnese.
