Services for Lubertha Brooks, 79, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. L.B. Oliver officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brooks was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Frogmore, the daughter of Ike and Lubertha Watkins Jefferson.
She was a homemaker.
Ms. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Brooks Sr.

Survivors include four sons, Roosevelt Brooks Jr. of Fresno, Calif., Willie M. Brooks and his wife, Barbara, of Ferriday, Roosevelt Brooks and his wife, Diana, of Vidalia and Karl Brooks of Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters, Kathleen Brooks, Mary Hampton and her husband, John, Georgia Brooks and Rose Brown and her husband, Stacey, all of Ferriday; one sister, Dorothy M. Jefferson and Wilbert Jones of Clayton; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
