Services for Joan Viccinelli Vance, 70, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Basilica with Father Alfred Camp and Father David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Vance was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Natchez, the daughter of Premo and Mae Viccinelli. She was a life-long resident of Natchez, as well as a life-long member of St. Mary Basilica. She was also a member of Natchez Garden Club, and she was an active volunteer at Cathedral School.

Survivors include her husband, Sonny Vance of Natchez; daughters, Karen Burgess and her husband, Mike, both of Collierville, Tenn. and Brenda Rasco and her husband, Chuck, both of Natchez; son, Johnny Byrne and his wife, Charlotte, both of Natchez; step-daughters, Debra Sober and her husband, Luther, both of Medford, Ore. and Laurie McIntire and her husband, Terry, of North Carolina; granchildren, Bryan Edwin Byrne Jr., Jack Byrne, Mary Kate Byrne, Christopher Rasco and Emily Rasco, all of Natchez and Cory Sober and Allison Sober, both of Medford, Ore.; and brother, Louis “Booty” Viccinelli of Houston.

Pallbearers will be Mike Burgess, Jack Byrne, Chuck Rasco, Christopher Rasco, Bill Byrne and Phillip Viccinelli.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cathedral School Development fund.
