Services for Florida McCalip Wilkes, 91, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, will be noon Saturday at Wilderness Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilkes was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Adams County, the daughter of Jesse McCalip and Laura Jane Thornton McCalip. She was caregiver to the Armstrong, Martin, Winter and Junkin families. She was a member of Wilderness Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Faye Wilkes; parents; sister, Launtee McCalip; brother-in-law, Johnny Anderson; nephew, Joseph Williams; and niece, Velma McCalip.
Survivors include her sisters, Ophelia Anderson and Willie B. Faulkner; nephews, Caudell McCalip and wife, Augustine, Kijuan Dukes, Ricardo Dukes; niece, Velma Dukes; great- nieces and nephews, Roshonda Davis, Antonio Hess, Jaleesa Williams, Najia Barnes, Skylar Davis, Joseph Williams III, Akia Johnson and Kijuan Dukes Jr.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be John Edwards, Darryl McCoy, Kenneth Walker, Caudell McCalip, Kijuan Dukes and Ricardo Dukes.
