Services for Florence Butler Hayes, 80, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, in Monroe, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Kingston, with the Rev. Willie Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. to service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Hayes was born May 30, 1926, in Brookhaven, daughter of Elijah and Lottie Howard Butler. She was a retired teacher. She was a Sunday School teacher, treasurer and past Matron of Lucinda Robinson Chapter No. 6 of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Adolph Hayes Sr.
Survivors include her children, Janet Hayes Davis and husband, Patrick, of Monroe, Edna Joyce Hayes of Monroe, and Adolph Lilton Hayes Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Natchez; brother, J. Hue Butler of Brookhaven; sister, Lucy Watson and husband, Burnell of New Orleans; grandchildren, Jeremy A. Hayes and wife, Marquita, of Oceanside, Calif., Jason A. Hayes and Janell A. Hayes, both of Natchez, Patrick Davis III and wife, Easter, of Chicago, James Earl Davis and wife, Shameal, of Mesa, Ariz., Shania David and Madison Nicole Davis, both of Monroe; great-grandchildren, Julien Hayes, Jameal Davis and Darian Davis; sisters-in-law, Josephine Hayes, Ellen Hayes, and Helen Hayes; brothers-in-law, James Matthews and Hal Butler; a number of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
