The Saints used the fourth quarter to get some of their younger players some playing time. The Rebels were outscored 18-5 as the Saints cruised to a 68-31 victory in the cross-town rivalry match up.
First-year ACCS head coach Josh Loy said the rebels missed out on many rebounding opportunities.
&8220;We could have played with them if we would have rebounded and eliminated second chances. They are too good of a team to give that many second chances to,&8221; said Loy.
Loy said the Rebels also struggled with consistency.
&8220;We still can&8217;t put two halves of basketball together,&8221; he said, adding, &8220;We also need to find a way to generate more offense.&8221;
Saints head coach David King said he was pleased with his team&8217;s performance. He said he team is still trying to gather themselves since getting off to a late start because of the Saint&8217;s extended football season.
&8220;We have a chance to be good basketball team,&8221; said King. &8220;We must eliminate mistakes.&8221;
King said he was also proud ACCS coach Loy, who is one of King&8217;s former players.
&8220;I am really proud of the way josh coached his team. He is one of my old players and it is good to see him doing well.&8221;
