VIDALIA &8212; The Concordia Narcotics Task Force arrested five people on Alabama Avenue in Ferriday Friday night on assorted drug-related charges.
According to a press release from the Concordia Parish Sheriff&8217;s Office, Deputy Chris Groh and Sgt. Greg Jackson received complaints of illegal drug activity in the area and were patrolling when they spotted a red Ford pickup truck obstructing traffic in front of 819 Alabama Ave.
When officers approached the location they found that several subjects had narcotics including Velata Frazier, 42, who lived at the residence.
Assisted by Narcotics Agent Chuck Hall, Groh and Jackson found suspected drugs and drug residue throughout the residence.
Frazier was arrested on charges of possession of schedule I, II, III and IV drugs.
Her sons Xavier, 19, Derrick, 21, and Kadarrian, 24, were also booked. Kadarrian and Derrick were charged with possession of schedule I, II, III and IV drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer. Bond for each was set in Seventh District Court at $39,750.
Xavier was charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II drugs (crack cocaine), possession of schedule I drugs (marijuana) and schedule III and IV drugs.

Tuesday Sheriff Randy Maxwell said the CPSO had been working on the case for a while but it wasn&8217;t until neighbors made phone calls reporting the activity that officers could make any arrests.
&8220;The public in this case was extremely helpful,&8221; Maxwell said. &8220;We can&8217;t do this job without their help.&8221;
Maxwell said he was proud of officers Groh, Jackson and Hall, as well as the CNTF.
&8220;They all did a hell of a job on this case,&8221; Maxwell said. &8220;This is a never ending problem but we work extremely hard on it.&8221;
