Franklin County rolls all over Wilkinson County in 47-0 win

MEADVILLE &8212; The Franklin County Bulldogs moved one step closer to winning the Region 7-3A championship with a 47-0 win over the Wilkinson County Wildcats at homecoming Friday night.

Preston Griffith led Franklin County&8217;s rushing game with 122 yards rushing, all in the first half, and a touchdown. The Bulldogs racked up 344 yards on the ground and quarterback Jamie Collins had a solid game with 83 yards passing, 52 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Franklin County (8-1, 5-0) ranked No. 2 in the latest Clarion-Ledger and Mississippi Associated Press Class 3A polls, hosts Tylertown Friday night on Senior Night with the region title on the line.

Wilkinson County (0-9, 0-5) was held to 52 yards of total offense and three first downs. Despite the lopsided score, the Wildcats turned the ball over just once and committed only four penalties.
