Services for Gertha Lea “Gussie” White, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. today at the Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Denny Callaway officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. White was born Sept. 28, 1927 in Fowler, La., the daughter of John Emmett Slade and Mildred Conn Slade.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank White, her daughter, Cheryl Bonnette, and her sister Dixie Starnes.

Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie Huff of Natchez,; one son, Mike White of Natchez; one sister, Gladys Burns, of Bogue Chitto; grandchildren, Jamie Spring and his wife, Angela, of Vidalia, Ty White and his wife, Amy, of McComb, Chris White of Natchez and Sam Nevels of Los Angeles; five great-grandchildren; and her best friend of many years, Arlene McCool, of Nashville, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be Kenny May, Ty White, Robby Powell, John Michael Powell, Jason Avants and Glenn Avants.
