Services for Melvin Gordon O’Neal, 49, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Community Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Church Cemetery, in Union Church, under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. O’Neal was born April 5, 1957, in Natchez, the son of George and Lela Lee Moore O’Neal.

Survivors include his wife, Martha O’Neal of Natchez; parents, George and Jennie O’Neal of Junction City, Kan.; brothers, David K. O’Neal and George O’Neal Jr., both of Junction City, Kan.; grandmother, Stella Moore of Union Church; and cousin, Larry Jamison of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be John Beldiz, Joey Tarber, Paul Harris, Michael Brown Jr., David O’Neal and Danny McLeod.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Guillot, Alex Womack and J.D. Winborne.
