Services for Sam H. Williams, 66, who died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams was born Oct. 7, 1940, in Ferriday, the son of Arthur and Carrie Bowman Williams. He served in the United States Army, was a truck driver and was a Baptist. He was a deacon at Zion Hill Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the B.A.S.S. professional fishing club.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Christopher Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Cook Williams of Ferriday; his mother; six sons, Ahren Williams of Ferriday, Develon Williams of Ruston, La., Tellis White of Monroe, Aaron Williams and Phillip Cook, both of Natchez and Sean Cook of Bossier City, La.; two daughters, Samantha Reed of Ferriday and Sharon Hawkins of Cincinatti, Ohio; four brothers, Tony Williams of Las Vegas, Eddie Lloyd of Los Angeles, Michael Williams of Riverside, Calif. and Ricky Williams of Detroit; two sisters, Carolyn Barela of Las Vegas and Franette Williams of Detroit; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
