Saints survive Central Private

Despite being outscored 24-20 in the second half, the Trinity Episcopal Saints managed to hang on and defeat Central Private on the road Monday night 48-45.
The Saints used the first quarter as a launch pad for their victory, as Trinity outscored Central Private 21-13 and took an eight point lead at he end of the quarter.
The Saints cooled off in the second quarter and only scored seven points, but their defense stayed strong and limited their opponents to just eight points in the second. At the half, the Saints led 28-21.
Even though the Saints failed to score in double digits in the third quarter, they still managed to maintain their lead by six.
Central Private scored 10 points in the quarter, but only managed to cut into the Saints’ lead by one.
Central Private continued to attack the Trinity lead in the fourth quarter, and outscored Trinity 14-11.
But the Saints hung on as Parker Brumfield scored 11 points and was assisted by teammates Steven Ridley and Matthew Freeman, who each chipped in 10.
Matt Creel scored 15 points for Central Private and Josh Creel scored 12, but it was not enough as the Saints improved their overall record to 12-10.
