Rednecks gather to celebrate

Redneck Adventures kicked off their sixth annual squirrel hunt in a big fashion at Riverfront RV Park Friday night.
The crowd of 75 plus people enjoyed the music of Kevin Blake Weldon, while Ruff ’n Tuff, Redneck Adventures’ flagship sponsor, provided food for the event.
“We are really pleased with the turn out. Two years ago 217 squirrels were killed, but last year was rained out,” Jimmy, “Jim Bob,” Allgood, co-founder of Redneck Adventures, said. “The main thing is that everybody is enjoying the outdoors.”
This year’s featured guests are from the Wounded Warriors Project, and consist of several members of the U.S armed forces that have been wounded in battle while fighting in the conflict overseas.
The kick-off sets the stage for the sixth annual squirrel hunt that will take place this morning on over 20,000 acres of land. Following the hunt the festivities will continue.
Lakeside Ford will provide 350 pounds of crawfish, while Bob Red Owens will cook a hog — harvested in Texas by Redneck Adventures — Cajun microwave style at the Riverfront RV Park in Vidalia.
Redneck Adventures has been featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well as Country Fried Home Videos with Bill Engvall on Country Music Television.
“Redneck Adventures is on the way to the top,” said Allgood. “Against all odds we are the number one most aired hunting show on cable.”

“We are a bunch of good ole rednecks enjoying good food and each others fellowship in the outdoors,” Keith “Stork” Rayburn said.
