Services for George Jamison Jr., 81, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Trace Haven Nursing Home, will be 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Bros. Spruce Derden and Mike Staniel officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Church under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jamison was one of two remaining charter members of Riverside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Jamison Sr. and Pearlie Rushing Jamison; brothers, Leslie Jamison, Mack Jamison, Albert Jamison, Carol Jamison and Jimmy Jamison; sisters, Kate Jones, Annie Rae Dickson, Marie Jamison, Mary Louise Cather, Carolyn Clary and Willie Mae Temple.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Jamison; brother, Clyde Jamison and wife, Irene; stepdaughter, Carol Chavis; daughters, Patricia Swillie and husband, James, and Shirley Chandler and husband, Barney; granddaughters, Chasity Perea and husband, Chris, and Jamie Swillie; grandson, Barney Carl Chandler; great-grandchildren, Chaisly Perea, Caydence Perea and Hunter Chandler; step-grandson, Terrell Jones and wife, Lisa; step-great-grandsons, Josh Jones and Drew Gray; a very close and special sister-in-law, Velma Jamison; a very special cousin, L.C. Rushing; a very special great-niece, Sherry Jones Hester; and his devoted sitter, Janice Williams.

Pallbearers will be Mike Collier, Chris Perea, Wayne Caston, Josh Stricklin, Barney Carl Chandler and Marion Pollard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vinton Dunnigan, Jimmy Dunn, Lewis Harveston and Wayne Hester.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Riverside Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
