Services for Howard Fleming Jr., of New Orleans, formerly of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Ochsner Hospital, in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greater St. Andrew Baptist Church, 7000 Earhart Boulevard, with the Rev. Nathaniel Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery under the direction of Littlejohn’s Funeral Home, 2163 Aubry Street, New Orleans.
Mr. Fleming was born April 3, 1932, the son of Howard and Mary Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delezene Fleming; and brother, Norman Fleming Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Floredine Forest Fleming of New Orleans; stepsons, Colin Dawson and Troy Forest, both of New Orleans; brothers, Idorsey Fleming and wife, Princella, Leroy Fleming and wife, Mary, and Otis Fleming, all of Natchez, Morris Z. Mock and wife, Shirley, of Jackson and Frank L. Mock of Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters, Josephine Fleming, Evelena Pickett, Geneva Jackson, Eva Calvin, all of Natchez, Bertha King of Vidalia, and Camille Jackson of New Orleans; sisters-in-law, Linda Fleming, Brenda Harris and husband, Elmer, Cheryl Forest and husband, Donald, and Elnora Armour; brother-in-law, Aaron Forest; uncle, Andrew Fleming of Alexandria; four grandchildren; five godchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
