John and Jerri Wood

Services for John and Jeri Wood, of Ferriday, will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Ferriday with the Rev. Joseph Odenwald officiating.

Burial will follow at Monclova Cemetery near Waterproof under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Jeri was born Feb. 8, 1967 in Newellton, La., the daughter of Marie and Anon Trevillion. John was born Oct. 26, 1964, in Ferriday, the son of Jimmy and Margie Wood. They were both kind and caring people who will truly be missed by all who knew them. John was a farmer in Tensas Parish, and when he was not farming he was a hunting guide at Sommerset Plantation in Newellton. Jeri was a doting mom in every sense of the word. She loved her family passionately and will forever be remembered as a kind and nurturing person.

Survivors include their sons, Hudson Wood of Ruston and Connor Wood of Ferriday. Maternal survivors are Anon and Marie Trevillion of Waterproof; sisters Diane Scott and husband, Fred, of St. Joseph, Denise McBride of Bunkie, La. and Robin Kaiser and husband, Carl, of Natchez. Paternal survivors are Jimmy and Margie Wood of Monroe, brother, Bart Wood and wife, Shannon, of Tallulah, La.; sister, Paige Miller and husband, Boyce, of Monroe. Also surviving Jeri and John are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
