Services for Patrick Joel “Pat” Powers, who died Friday, March 16, 2007, in Baton Rouge, will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today with a wake service at 7 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Powers was born June 11, 1954, in Natchez, the son of Garland Eugene Powers and Delorese Black Powers. He was a member of St. Mary Basilica. He was a duke for the Krewe of Alpheus in 2000. He served as a police officer for the City of Natchez for 12 years. He was owner and operator of Universal Appliance Service for 13 years. He was a charter bus driver for Bus Supply Charter Inc. of McComb.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Shumway Powers, of Natchez; daughter, Sarah Virginia Powers of Natchez; son, Charles Anthony Powers of Natchez; brothers, Gary Eugene Powers of Forney, Texas, Daniel Garland Powers of Greensboro, S.C. and Keith Carlton Powers of Morristown, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Powers, Dan Powers, Keith Powers Alyson Coyle, Mike Gross and Michael Shumway.
Honorary pallbearers will be the fellow drivers of Bus Supply Charters of McComb.
