Asa Brewer

Graveside services for Asa Larue “Larry” Brewer, 91, of McComb, formerly of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Magnolia, will be 2 p.m. today at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Philip Alford officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Brewer was born July 6, 1915, in Jayess, Miss., the son of Asa Napoleon and Cassandra Price Brewer. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force for 4 1/2 years during World War II. He owned and operated an Autolec Store in Natchez and was a Rural Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 13 years. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Smith Brewer.

Survivors include his brothers, Bob Brewer of Summit and Mack Brewer of McComb; his sister, Polly Alto of McComb; a number of nieces and nephews.
