Queen Walker

Services for Queen Ella Walker, 92, who died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. today at St. Charles Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Hines officiating.

Burial will follow at Watkins Street Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walker was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Adams County, the daughter of William and Rebecca Hawkins. She was a life-long member of St. Charles Baptist Church. She was employed as a chef at Jefferson Davis Hospital, now Natchez Regional Medical Center. She was later employed at Diamond International Corporation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Walker; and sons, Ronnie Walker and Prentiss Walker.

Survivors include her daughters, Willie Mae Williams and husband, Robert, of Natchez, Rebecca Powell and husband, George, of Baton Rouge and Linda Walker of New York, N.Y.; sons, Charles Walker and wife, Ann, of Natchez, Eugene Walker of Cleveland, Ohio, Otis Walker and wife, Pamela, of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Clinton Walker and wife, Sandra, of Louisville; sister, Viola Webb of Natchez; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends and relatives of the family.
