Services for Dan “Pappy” Stephenson, 77, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Rapides General Medical Center, Alexandria, will be 2 p.m. today at Lake St. John Community Baptist Church with Bro. Karl Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Mr. Stephenson was born April 13, 1929, in Baskin, La., the son of George and Nancy Jane Stephenson. He was a resident of Ferriday. He was a member and a deacon of the Lake St. John Community Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Buddy, Ford, Earl, Wilton, J.L., Morrell, Neal, and Eddie Ray Stephenson; and grandchildren, Eric Brown and twins, Robert and Eddie Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Stephenson of Ferriday; daughter, Beth Brown and husband, Paul, of Horn Lake, Miss.; grandchildren, Jay Brown and Karen Brown, Julie Brown Conner, Brian Fliehmann, Chad Conner and Jodi Stampley; great-grandchildren, Steven Brown, Jarred Brown, Erika Brown, Madison Conner and Kamryn Conner; and sisters, Allie Mae Brister of Rayville and Nellwin Martin of Ruston.

Pallbearers will be Chad Stephenson, Mike Stephenson, Timmy Stephenson, Scooter Stephenson, Mickey Jones and Chad Conner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Craft, Bennie Harrell, Jay Brown, Dennis Brown, Steven Brown, Jarred Brown, and Brian Fliehmann.
