Services for Alberta Colenburg “Sugardo” Hughes, 81, of Natchez, who died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at George F. West Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hughes was born Aug. 21, 1925, the daughter of Fred Colenburg and Addie Green Colenburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Hughes; brother, Rufus Colenburg; and sisters, Mary Walker and Alma Ford.

Survivors include her devoted son, Theodore Colenburg of Natchez; a sister, Ruby West of Natchez; granddaughter, Sylvia Miles Daye and husband, Philiman, of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Theodore Miller and wife, Gail, of Huntsville, Ala., Kenneth L. Miller and wife, Mary, of Villa Rica, Ga., Fredrick Hughes and wife, Tracy, of Jackson, Patrick V. Colenburg and wife, Felicia, of Anniston, Ala., Kelvin M. Smoot and Courtland Smoot, both of Natchez; 12 great-grandchildren; two devoted nieces, Edna Marie Reed and husband, A. J., of Chicago, Ill. and Jessie Lee Smith and husband, Henry, of Natchez; sister-in-law, Gloria J. Butler of Natchez; brother-in-law, Michael Arnette and wife, Rose, of Ofallon, Ill.; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearer will be grandsons and family members.
