Services for Mary Chest, 54, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Louisiana State University Medical Center, in Shreveport, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Church with Pastor Troy Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow at Myrtle Grove Cemetery, in Waterproof, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Chest was born July 11, 1952, in Waterproof, the daughter of Mose Chest and Lizza Daniels. She was a nurse’s assistant at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab.

She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Mose Chest Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Charles O’Bryant of Ferriday; her mother, Lizza Daniels of Springfield, Mass.; sons, James Chest and wife, Sharon, Edward C. O’Bryant and Mose “Dan” Chest, all of Ferriday and Tommy Atkins and wife, Nikki, of Baton Rouge; daughter, Angela Chest and husband, Thomas, of Springfield, Mass.; sisters, Mary A. White of Kansas City, Mo., Irma L. Chest, Edna L. Brown and husband, James, all of Ferriday, Littie M. Charles and husband, Sterling, and Wanda F. Atkins, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and special nephew, Sterling Chest of Springfield.
